A Fake

I put up a fake Christmas Tree this year. Been threatening this for twenty five or thirty years and this was the year to actually do it. Mrs calls it our "holiday structure" after a cartoon in the Hartford Courant which referred to an artificial tree put up as Hartford's sort of official tree in Constitution Plaza this year.

Don't ask me why. I just wanted to. The rest of the season is about the same as it has been for the past fifty years. And the last two very faded links left from the paper ring garland that Mrs put on the tree in 1961 when I was sick are on it, as usual.

So, there you have it.
